PRDM12 also known as PR domain containing 12 is a transcriptional regulator believed to have a mass of approximately 88 kDa. It functions mechanically by modulating gene expression through histone methylation. PRDM12 localizes in the nucleus and is primarily expressed in the nervous system notably in sensory neurons. It acts by interacting with other factors to influence the chromatin structure thereby modifying how genes get transcribed.
