    Regulates eIF4E activity by preventing its assembly into the eIF4F complex. Mediates the regulation of protein translation by hormones, growth factors and other stimuli that signal through the MAP kinase and mTORC1 pathways.

We have used this product to make standards for our in house sandwich ELISA assay for 4EBP1 phosphorylation detection. We used this with a highest standard of 1000pg with a serial dilution to make 8 standards. This protein is stable for months. The higher standards in the curve looked good. The signal dropped at the lower standards.
Overall this is a good product.

Phosphorylation of ab60007 has not been characterized. It is possible that it is not phosphorylated at all in the expression system that is used to produce the protein. The note on the datasheet in the field "Post-Translational Modifications" is a general note ("Phosphorylated on serine and threonine residues") about eIF4EBP1 and does not refer specifically to ab60007.
