Functional Studies - Recombinant Human Contactin 6 protein (AB109345)
Induction of Hes-1 with the treatment of hContactin-6-Fc.
A Mouse preadpipocyte cell line, 3T3L1, was stimulated with 5 μg/ml of ab109345 as in indicated time points and each cell lysate was prepared and subjected to Western blot by using anti-Mouse Hes-1 or GAPDH (loading control). Lane M : Marker

Biological function summary
Contactin 6 contributes significantly to the development and maintenance of the nervous system. This protein often interacts with other cell adhesion molecules forming complexes that mediate cell-cell interactions necessary for neuronal patterning and guidance. It regulates axon growth and helps in establishing precise neural networks. Through these connections Contactin 6 plays a role in developmental processes that affect neuronal migration and differentiation.
Pathways
Contactin 6 participates in neural development and signaling pathways. One important pathway is the cell adhesion pathway where Contactin 6 interacts with proteins like L1CAM and NrCAM essential for axonal guidance and synaptogenesis. Another pathway involves its association with the Notch signaling pathway which influences neurogenic outcomes and fate specification during embryonic development. These interactions highlight its importance in neural connectivity and signaling.

常规信息
功能
Contactins mediate cell surface interactions during nervous system development. Participates in oligodendrocytes generation by acting as a ligand of NOTCH1. Its association with NOTCH1 promotes NOTCH1 activation through the released notch intracellular domain (NICD) and subsequent translocation to the nucleus. Involved in motor coordination (By similarity).
序列相似性
Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Contactin family.
