    Cytomegalovirus is a member of the herpes virus group, which includes herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, varicella zoster virus (which causes chicken pox), and Epstein Barr virus (which causes infectious mononucleosis). These viruses share a characteristic ability to remain dormant within the body over a long period. CMV viral genes are co-ordinately expressed in groups at various times after infection. Early viral proteins are expressed in the nucleus of infected cells within 3 to 24 hours of infection prior to the commencement of viral DNA replication. This is followed by expression of the early intermediate genes, which encode enzymes required for viral DNA replication. After 48 to 72 hours, a number of late viral antigens may be demonstrated in the nuclei and cytoplasm of infected cells. pp65 is a 65kD phosphorylated glycoprotein and is the most abundant of the late antigens.

Unfortunately, we only have 5 Anti-Cytomegalovirus pp65 antibodies only two of which have been tested in ELISA. Unfortunately these two antibodies have not been validated for use in sELISA together and therefore we cannot guarantee that they will work. In addition, we do not have an Anti-Cytomegalovirus pp65 antibody conjugated to HRP.

Hello,

I am following up from a phone call that I had last week. I requested information on the protein sequence of the following peptides:

Cytomegalovirus pp65 IE protein (ab54103)

Cytomegalovirus Glycoprotein B protein (ab43040)

Would you be able to tell me the amino acid sequence and what position (ie. what number AA it starts and ends at)?

I am trying to find monoclonal antibodies that are specific to these two proteins – would you be able to recommend any that you make?

It would be greatly appreciated if you could get back to me as soon as possible as it has been a number of days since the phone call.

I can confirm that the immunogen for ab43040 is from within the amino acid range 11-67. I am sorry the exact sequence is proprietary.

Unfortunately, we are not able to release the immunogen sequence forab54103as it is proprietary information. We aim to provide as much information as possible to our customers, so I am sorry that this has not been possible on this occasion.
