Biological function summary
SEPT10 participates in cellular division and morphogenesis. It forms part of larger septin complexes which include other septin proteins acting as a scaffold for recruiting and localizing proteins essential for various biological processes. In addition SEPT10 helps in maintaining cell integrity and shape by regulating the organization of actin and microtubules contributing to centrosome organization during cell division.
Pathways
SEPT10 integrates into pathways related to cell cycle regulation and cytoskeleton organization. In particular it associates with the Rho-signaling pathway influencing cell polarity and shape. In these pathways SEPT10 interacts with proteins like Cdc42 and RhoA contributing to the dynamic remodeling of the cytoskeleton and influencing cellular responses to external stimuli.
