补充信息

The SED protein also known as Skeletal Endothelial Differentiation plays an essential role in cell differentiation processes. It is a protein with a molecular mass of approximately 60 kDa. SED is highly expressed in endothelial cells and to a lesser extent in other tissue cells such as skeletal muscle. Its high expression in certain tissues suggests a specialized function in maintaining cellular integrity and promoting differentiation signals.
Biological function summary

SED participates in important differentiation processes involving various cell types. It acts within a complex of proteins that coordinate cellular responses to growth signals. SED modulates the activity of growth factors influencing cell proliferation and differentiation. This regulation is particularly important in the development of connective tissues and the maintenance of vascular integrity.

Pathways

SED interacts with multiple signaling pathways that are essential for cell growth and differentiation. It is notably involved in the TGF-beta signaling pathway and the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. In these pathways SED collaborates with proteins like SMAD2/3 to transmit signals that promote cellular differentiation and growth. This involvement highlights SED's role in controlling the transcription of genes necessary for tissue development.

SED shows strong connections to conditions involving impaired skeletal or vascular development such as osteogenesis imperfecta and vascular diseases. The relationship between SED and these disorders may involve other proteins like COL1A1 which is critical for collagen synthesis and skeletal integrity. Understanding SED's interaction with these proteins could offer insights into potential therapeutic targets for treating such disorders.

靶点信息

Staphylococcal enterotoxin that activates the host immune system by binding as unprocessed molecules to major histocompatibility (MHC) complex class II and T-cell receptor (TCR) molecules. In turn, this ternary complex activates a large number of T-lymphocytes initiating a systemic release of pro-inflammatory cytokines (PubMed : 9551975). In addition, induces B-cell proliferation and differentiation in the presence of T-cells (PubMed : 8621894). Causes also the intoxication staphylococcal food poisoning syndrome (PubMed : 17306397).
