OLA1 also known as Obg-like ATPase 1 is a GTPase enzyme with a molecular weight of approximately 47 kDa. It belongs to the Obg family of P-loop GTPases. You can find OLA1 primarily in the cytoplasm but it's also present in the mitochondria under certain conditions. Studies show high expression of OLA1 in a variety of tissues including the liver brain and heart indicating its widespread presence and importance in cellular processes.

This protein regulates cellular processes such as protein synthesis stress response and mitochondrial function.
