特异性

This affinity purified antibody is directed against mouse LDB2. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest reactivity with this protein from mouse, human, chimpanzee, dog, rat and chicken based on 100% homology for the immunogen sequence. Cross reactivity with LDB2 homologues from other sources has not been determined.

This antibody detects a single clean band representing LDB2 at 42kD in human kidney and mouse spleen.

补充信息

LIM Domain Binding 2 (LDB2) also known as CLIM2 or NLI binds to LIM domain-containing proteins. This protein with a molecular weight of approximately 48 kDa plays a significant role in transcriptional regulation. LDB2 is mainly expressed in neural and hematopoietic tissues where it influences the development and differentiation processes. Through its ability to interact with a variety of LIM-homeodomain proteins LDB2 modulates complex cellular functions.
Biological function summary

LIM Domain Binding 2 acts as a scaffold protein facilitating the assembly of transcriptional complexes. It actively participates in the gene regulation by forming multi-protein complexes with other transcription factors. LDB2 helps stabilize these complexes enabling the precise control of gene expression. Its role in the broader transcriptional machinery allows it to influence cell fate decisions and differentiation pathways significantly.

Pathways

LIM Domain Binding 2 contributes to important signaling cascades such as the Wnt and TGF-beta pathways. In these pathways LDB2 works alongside proteins like beta-catenin and SMADs contributing to cell proliferation differentiation and apoptosis processes. By interacting with these diverse pathways LDB2 integrates signals from different sources and helps orchestrate cellular responses that are important for normal development and homeostasis.

LIM Domain Binding 2 has links to certain cancers and developmental disorders. Its misregulation associates with cancers often involving aberrant activation of beta-catenin-driven Wnt signaling. Furthermore disruptions in LDB2 interactions with other cytoskeletal proteins can lead to neural developmental disorders. Understanding LDB2's role in these contexts offers potential therapeutic insights and highlights its importance in maintaining cellular balance.
