ING3 was immunoprecipitated from 0.35 mg HeLa (human cervix adenocarcinoma epithelial cell) whole cell lysate 10 μg with ab300081 at 1/30 dilution (2μg in 0.35mg lysates). Western blot was performed on the immunoprecipitate using ab300081 at 1/1000 dilution. VeriBlot for IP secondary antibody(HRP)(ab131366) was used at 1/5000 dilution.

The ING3 protein also known as inhibitor of growth family member 3 is a nuclear protein with a molecular mass of approximately 47 kDa. ING3 belongs to the ING gene family and acts as a tumor suppressor by modulating chromatin structure and regulating gene expression. It is expressed in various tissues including the liver kidney and heart and plays a critical role in cellular stress responses. ING3 interacts with several components of the histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complex regulating processes like cell growth apoptosis and DNA repair.
Biological function summary

ING3 influences gene transcription and chromatin remodeling as a part of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex. Component of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complex which is involved in transcriptional activation of select genes principally by acetylation of nucleosomal histones H4 and H2A. This modification may both alter nucleosome - DNA interactions and promote interaction of the modified histones with other proteins which positively regulate transcription. This complex may be required for the activation of transcriptional programs associated with oncogene and proto-oncogene mediated growth induction, tumor suppressor mediated growth arrest and replicative senescence, apoptosis, and DNA repair. NuA4 may also play a direct role in DNA repair when directly recruited to sites of DNA damage.
