Defects in HPS1 are the cause of Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome type 1 (HPS1) [MIM:203300]. Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome (HPS) is a genetically heterogeneous, rare, autosomal recessive disorder characterized by oculocutaneous albinism, bleeding due to platelet storage pool deficiency, and lysosomal storage defects. This syndrome results from defects of diverse cytoplasmic organelles including melanosomes, platelet dense granules and lysosomes. Ceroid storage in the lungs is associated with pulmonary fibrosis, a common cause of premature death in individuals with HPS. - Information by UniProt

Alexa Fluor® 594 Anti-alpha Tubulin antibody [DM1A] - Microtubule Marker (ab195889) was used to counterstain tubulin at 1/200 dilution. The nuclear counterstain was DAPI (Blue).

Flow cytometric analysis of 4% paraformaldehyde fixed 90% methanol permeabilized K-562 cells labelling HPS1 with ab174301 at 1/30 dilution (10 µg/mL) (Red) compared with a Rabbit monoclonal IgG (Black) isotype control and an unlabelled control (cells without incubation with primary antibody and secondary antibody) (Blue). Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (Alexa Fluor® 488, ab150081) was used as the secondary antibody.
