      Orphan receptor. May be required for normal differentiation of promyelinating Schwann cells and for normal myelination of axons. Signals probably through G-proteins to transiently elevate cAMP levels.

Processing at the GPS domain occurred independent of and probably prior to the cleavage at the S2 site.

      Has your Anti-GPCR GPR126 antibody (ab75356) been tested in mouse for IHC? Is it predicted to cross-react with mouse?

      The antibody has not been predicted to cross react with mouse GPR126. The lab aligned the exact immunogenic sequence used to raise the antibody with Q6F3F9, and the homology is only 64.3%.

      We usually say that a homology of 85% or higher has a good likelihood for crossreactivity.

      I am trying to find an antibody against gpr126 that will cross react with zebrafish. Please can you tell me the peptide sequence that was used to raise antibodies ab65175, ab75356 and ab117092, so that I can see if they are from a conserved region of the protein. Best wishes Sarah

I am happy to let you know the following immunogen sequences: ab65175: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ab75356: yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy In preliminary searches, I could not find conclusive matches for these peptides in zebrafish (only 75-80% similarity with various proteins); however, I trust that you can determine whether the antibodies would potentially cross-react. The sequence of the immunogenic peptide used to generate antibody ab117092 is considered proprietary. An alignment with Zebrafish revealed only 65% homology between the sequence of the human peptide used as the immunogen and the corresponding region in Zebrafish GPR126. Based on these similarity figures we would not expect these antibodies to perform well with Zebrafish samples. Having said this, we realise how difficult it is to find suitable antibodies for Zebrafish. If you therefore nevertheless decide to go ahead and purchase one of these products, please contact us again prior to the purchase as you might be eligible for our testing discount program.
