Clp cleaves peptides in various proteins in a process that requires ATP hydrolysis. Clp may be responsible for a fairly general and central housekeeping function rather than for the degradation of specific substrates.

Question

I just read on your application notes for antibody ab124822 that it is unsuitable for ICC or IHC-P. Could you please elaborate on this? Does it mean that it won't work for ICC or IHC-P or that there is a lot of non-specific reactivity when used for these applications?
Should I assume that it is also unsuitable for IFC?

Answer

Thank you for contacting Abcam regarding ab124822.

Regarding the use of this antibody in ICC or IHC-P, this antibody failed to react in these applications during routine QC testing. It is possible that with further troubleshooting the antibody may work, but we do not guarantee that and the product is not covered under our Abpromise for these applications. Similarly, we do not expect the antibody to work for IFC either. If you are working with human samples, I can recommend ab15708 as a suitable alternative.
