    Blood-group antigens are generally defined as molecules formed by sequential addition of saccharides to the carbohydrate side chains of lipids and proteins detected on erythrocytes and certain epithelial cells. The A, B and H antigens are reported to undergo modulation during malignant cellular transformation. Blood group related antigens represent a group of carbohydrate determinants carried on both glycolipids and glycoproteins. They are usually mucin-type, and are detected on erythrocytes, certain epithelial cells, and in secretions of certain individuals. Sixteen genetically and biosynthetically distinct but inter-related specificities belong to this group of antigens, including A, B, H, Lewis A, Lewis B, Lewis X, Lewis Y, and precursor type 1 chain antigens.

    I have received the following information:

    ab2521: the IHC(P) application was tested on human colon carcinoma tissue. The paraffin-embedded sections were deparaffinized by xylene, hydrated by 100%, 90%, 75% ethanol and distilled water, incubated with 5% H2O2, blocked with porcine serum devoid of ABO-reactive antibodies and then incubated with primary antibody, secondary antibody, and the signal was developed by DAB.

    ab3354: This products has been tested on FFPE normal human kidney tissue. We recommend using a 20min incubation of the primary @ 1:40 dilution and no antigen retrieval should be needed.
    I am inquiring about more specificity-testing information with the lab.

    ab24222: Unfortunately, the antibodywas not tested for WB, just in ELISA type format. Here, I am also inquiring about more specificity-testing information with the supplying lab for ELISA. I have updated our datasheet and removed WB. I am sorry for the incorrect information.

    Dear Sir or Ma’am, Thank you so much for all of the help I received from your technical support team when I called today to inquire about an antibody purchase I’d like to make.  I wanted to ask a couple more questions before placing my order:  For the product Ab 24222, it has not been tested yet for IHC-P in humans, which is the purpose for which I’d like to use it.  It was mentioned that if I did an abreview, we could get a coupon for a free antibody in the future.  What are the steps to enter into that agreement?  Also for products Ab 2521 and Ab2524, there are not pictures or western blots to show the antibody quality.  We plan to use these too for IHC-P in humans, for which they’ve been guaranteed.  If I order them and they don’t work well, what is entailed in that guarantee and what process is in place?  I very much appreciate your time in answering these questions.  Sincerely,

    When you say that it is a tissue culure supernatant you mean that no buffer is added to it so as to extract the antibodies? I have read in a manual that tissue culture supernatants are stored in 1/20 volume 1M tris buffer solution, pH=8. do you keep your antibodies under these conditions? thanks.

    Thank you for your enquiry. The format of ab2521 is condensed supernatant with 15 mM sodium azide. No more supplements or buffers are added or necessary.
