    Biotin is a water soluble vitamin, generally classified as a B complex vitamin, also called vitamin B4. After the initial discovery of biotin, nearly forty years of research were required to establish it as a vitamin. Biotin is required by all organisms but can only be synthesized by bacteria, yeasts, molds, algae, and some plant species. Biotin is required as prosthetic group of enzymes involved in incorporation of carbon dioxide into organic compounds. Biotin has a MW of 244 Da.

I have looked in detail at the datasheets for all three antibodies and the differences are: 1) the species in which they are raised in: -ab6643 and ab34579 are raised in goat -ab34552 and ab34826 are raised in rabbit 2) the way the antibodies were purified. -ab6643 was purified using biotin coupled to sepharose beads (high quality purification) -ab34552 was purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer -ab34579 was purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer. -ab34826 was purified from monoserum delipidified and defibrinated. This will affect the amount of antibody supplied per vial (so for the same price of €330 per vial we sell 0.1mg of ab6643 (the highly purified product) or 10 mg of ab34579 (less purified version). All antibodies except ab6643 are not in stock and will take 1-2 weeks to arrive following your order. Ab6643 is in stock and will take 1-2 days to arrive. Thank you for your enquiry. None of the antibodies ab6643, ab34552, ab34579 and ab34826 have been tested in IP with magnetic microbeads so I cannot guarantee they will work with those beads. HOwever I can confirm that they work with protein A and G sepharose beads. If in your experience these beads work in similar ways we can predict they may work in your beads. I am unsure why you would wish to use this antibody (Goat polyclonal to Biotin) for this purpose. Do you have a biotin-labelled protein that localises specifically to the mitochondrion? You would have to use an anti-goat secondary conjugated to a fluorescent tag.
