ARNT2 also known as Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor Nuclear Translocator 2 plays a role in transcription regulation by partnering with other bHLH-PAS proteins. Weighing approximately 88 kDa ARNT2 is mainly found in the brain and kidneys. This protein forms a heterodimer with other proteins such as HIF-1α which enables it to regulate gene expression in response to environmental signals.
Biological function summary

ARNT2 functions as a transcriptional regulator within cellular systems. It is a part of the hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) complex which is involved in responding to low oxygen levels in cells.
