      Question

      In the datasheet of this product a western blot result is shown where this ab is used on Human Tissue lysate - whole (brain). Two bands are visible, which represent the full length a2AP (70 kDa) and the degraded form of a2AP (55 kDa). I wondered whether this ab is also tested in human plasma? My last question is whether these two molecular forms of a2AP are also found in other tissues in the same proportions.

      Answer

      Our in house data shows only one band using this antibody. The western blot you are referring to is from one of our customers. Here they used brain lysates and observed 2 bands. The lower band is the band of interest at around 54 kDa. We do not know the identity of the upper but it may be the glycosylated form of the protein. As we are unsure what this upper band is, we cannot comment as to whether it will be present in other tissues in the same proportions.

      Unfortunately, this antibody has not been tested on human plasma and therefore we do not have any data to share with you.
