ADAMTS16 also known as A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase with Thrombospondin motifs 16 is a protease enzyme that plays a role in extracellular matrix regulation. It belongs to the family of ADAMTS proteins and has a molecular mass of approximately 170 kDa. This protein is expressed in various tissues including the kidney brain and testis. Its mechanical role involves processing extracellular matrix components such as proteoglycans.
Biological function summary

ADAMTS16 affects the remodeling of the extracellular matrix through its enzymatic activity. It participates in modulating cell signaling and tissue architecture essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis.
