产品详情
Abcam's anti-Rubella Virus IgM in vitro ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is designed for the accurate qualitative measurement of IgM class antibodies against Rubella Virus in Human serum and plasma.
A 96-well plate has been precoated with anti-Human IgM antibodies to bind to corresponding antibodies of the sample. Controls or test samples are added to the wells and incubated. Following washing, a horseradish peroxidase (HRP) labelled Rubella Virus antigen conjugate is added to the wells, which binds to the captured Rubella Virus-specific IgM antibodies. TMB is then catalyzed by the HRP to produce a blue color product that changes to yellow after adding an acidic stop solution. The density of yellow coloration is directly proportional to the amount of Rubella Virus IgM sample captured in plate.

Biological function summary
Antibodies like Rubella Virus IgM play an important role in the immune response by neutralizing the Rubella virus and preventing viral replication. The production of IgM antibodies occurs early during the immune response and it does not typically form part of a larger complex. The initiation of Rubella-specific IgM synthesis leads to an effective defense against viral pathogens before the body transitions to a predominant IgG response which aids in forming long-term immunity.
Pathways
The immune response associated with Rubella Virus IgM involves the broader adaptive immune system pathway engaging multiple effector mechanisms to combat viral infections. This involves activation and coordination with cytokine signaling pathways and collaboration with other immune components such as T-helper cells. The coordination ensures immediate containment of the virus while also facilitating a memory response through IgG antibody production.
