Interpolated concentrations of spike IL-19 in mouse, plasma and cell culture media samples.

The concentrations of IL-19 were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the IL-19 standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are as follows : serum 12.5%, plasma (citrate) 25%, plasma (EDTA) 25%, plasma (heparin) 25% and cell culture media 50%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2).

Mouse IL-19 ELISA Kit (ab253220) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of IL-19 protein in cell culture media, cit plasma, edta plasma, hep plasma, and serum. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Mouse IL-19 with 19.84 pg/ml sensitivity.

SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:

- Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
- High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
- Fully validated in biological samples
- 96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips

A 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.

Interleukin 19 is a member of the IL-10 anti-inflammatory cytokine subfamily. Encoded by the *IL-19* gene, this gene is found expressed in resting monocytes and B cells that plays important roles in inflammatory responses by binding the cell surface receptor IL-20R. In doing so, IL-19 upregulates IL-6 and TNF-alpha and induces apoptosis. Other stimulations such as granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor or lipopolysaccharide subsequently upregulates IL-19 in monocytes as well.

Cytokine that functions as an anti-inflammatory and proangiogenic factor (PubMed : 12370360, PubMed : 27053520). Polarizes adaptive immunity to an anti-inflammatory phenotype through induction of T-helper 2 responses by both down-regulation of IFN-gamma and up-regulation of IL4 and IL5 (PubMed : 15557163). Produced by osteocytes, stimulates granulopoiesis and neutrophil formation (PubMed : 33684929). Exerts its biological effect through a receptor complex consisting of a heterodimer of IL20RA and IL20RB. In turn, activates the Janus kinase (JAK) and signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) pathway, and importantly, STAT3 (By similarity).
