Sandwich ELISA - Human Neuron specific Enolase ELISA Kit (AB217778)
Interpolated concentration of native Neuron-specific Enolase was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are 125 μg/mL Human hippocampus tissue extract, 12.5 μg/mL Human brain cortex tissue extract, and 100 μg/mL SH-SY5Y cell extract. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in 1X Cell Extraction Buffer PTR.

产品详情
Human Neuron specific Enolase ELISA Kit ab217778 is a rapid single-wash 90-min Sandwich ELISA to measure Human Neuron specific Enolase in cell culture extracts, cell culture supernatant, CSF, citrate plasma, EDTA plasma, heparin plasma, serum, tissue extracts. This SimpleStep sensitivity is 23 pg/mL.
How the assay works
Human Neuron specific Enolase SimpleStep ELISA®employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details.
Assay Specificity
Our SimpleStep ELISA® kits use recombinant monoclonal antibodies rigorously validated to ensure the highest level of consistency and reproducibility, improved sensitivity and specificity and ease of scalability and security of supply.
Please refer to our protocol booklet for more details.
Human Neuron specific Enolase ELISA Kit ab217778 protocol summary
1. Mix: add samples/standards to the wells together with the capture and detector antibody cocktail. Incubate 1 hr at room temperature
2. Wash
3. Add TMB development solution - incubate for 10 min
4. Add Stop solution
5. Read the results on a plate reader at 450 nm
Neuron-specific Enolase (also known as NSE, gamma-enolase and Enolase 2) is a cytoplasmic phosphopyruvate hydratase. Neuron-specific Enolase has two related family members, Enolase 1 and Enolase 3. Neuron-specific Enolase can be used to identify neuronal cells and normal or malignant cells with neuroendocrine origin.

Biological function summary
NSE plays a major role in cellular metabolism particularly in neurons where it aids energy production through glycolysis. It forms part of a dimeric complex bonding typically with itself or other enolase isoforms for proper function. As an important enzyme in the metabolic pathway NSE helps ensure neurons and associated cells maintain energy homeostasis which is fundamental for sustenance and normal cellular functions.
Pathways
NSE is an integral component of glycolysis a metabolic pathway pivotal in cellular energy production. The process collaborates closely with other glycolytic enzymes like pyruvate kinase and hexokinase to facilitate efficient energy release from glucose. Through these interactions NSE guarantees the smooth continuation of glycolysis highlighting its importance within cellular metabolism frameworks.
