Serum of ten individual healthy human female donors was measured in duplicate. Interpolated dilution factor corrected values (to neat sample) are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean Integrin alpha 2 concentration was determined to be 75.12 ng/mL with a range of 34.54 – 103.82 ng/mL.

Interpolated concentration of native Integrin alpha 2 was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are as follows : serum 1 : 20, plasma (citrate) 1 : 25, plasma (EDTA) 1 : 67, and plasma (heparin) 1 : 33. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values (to neat sample) are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS.

The concentration of Integrin alpha 2 was measured in wild-type and knockout HeLa cell extracts based on a 100 µg/mL extract load in 1X Cell Extraction Buffer PTR (not provided with this kit, but available as ab193970). The mean concentration was determined to be 2,953.1 pg/mL in wild-type cell extract and undetectable in ITGA2 knockout cell extract. The wild-type and Integrin alpha 2 knockout cell extracts are available as ab257262.

Human Integrin alpha 2 SimpleStep ELISA® kit is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of Integrin alpha 2 protein in Serum, Cit Plasma, EDTA Plasma, Hep Plasma, Cell culture supernatant. Quantitate Human Integrin alpha 2 with 34.3 pg/ml sensitivity.

Integrin alpha-2/beta-1 is a receptor for laminin, collagen, collagen C-propeptides, fibronectin and E-cadherin. It recognizes the proline-hydroxylated sequence G-F-P-G-E-R in collagen. It is responsible for adhesion of platelets and other cells to collagens, modulation of collagen and collagenase gene expression, force generation and organization of newly synthesized extracellular matrix..
