Biological function summary
Hyaluronan and proteoglycan link protein 3 integrates into the extracellular matrix by forming part of a complex network essential for tissue structure and integrity. HAPLN3 contributes to the stabilization of matrix macromolecules directly influencing cell adhesion migration and proliferation. It ensures the structural rigidity necessary for normal tissue functions and provides the necessary dynamic balance for tissue repair and maintenance.
Pathways
Hyaluronan and proteoglycan link protein 3 participates in the formation and remodeling of the extracellular matrix pathway important for processes like embryogenesis and wound healing. It interacts with proteins such as aggrecan and versican which are also key components of the matrix regulatory network. Additionally HAPLN3 is involved with the hyaluronan metabolism pathway assisting in maintaining homeostasis of tissue hydration and elasticity.
