    Fructose-1,6-Bisphosphatase Activity Assay Kit (Colorimetric) (ab273329) provides a quick, reliable test that allows the measurement of Fructose-1,6-Bisphosphatase (FBP) enzymatic activity in various samples. In this assay, FBP hydrolyzes Fructose-1,6-Bisphosphate into Fructose-6-Phosphate (F6P). F6P is used in an enzyme coupled reaction which reduces a chromophore forming a product with a stable signal that can measured at OD = 450 nm.


    The assay is simple, sensitive and can detect lower than 100 µU of FBP in variety of samples.

    This product is manufactured by BioVision, an Abcam company and was previously called K590 Fructose-1,6-Bisphosphatase Activity Assay Kit (Colorimetric). K590-100 is the same size as the 100 test size of ab273329.

    FBP2: Cell junction. Cytoplasm. Nucleus. Cytoplasm, myofibril, sarcomere, Z line. In neonatal cardiomyocytes, distributed throughout the cytosol, accumulating in the intercalated disks which occur at the Z line of cardiomyocytes and connect adjacent cells, and also located in the nucleus; dissociates from the Z line following an increase in cytosolic Ca(2+) concentration (By similarity). In muscle precursor cells, localizes predominantly to the nucleus and to a lesser extent to the cytoplasm at the proliferative phase, while mainly localizing to the cytoplasm at the differentiation phase (By similarity). Colocalizes with ALDOA and alpha-actinin on both sides of the Z line of skeletal muscle; dissociates rapidly from the Z line following an increase in cytosolic Ca(2+) concentration.

    Specific FBP Activity was calculated in lysates prepared from rat liver (3.2µg protein), rat kidney (8µg protein) and HeLa lysate (4µg protein).
