Additional data
Additional Notes
This antibody was tested for WB with monkey cell. It did not worked but it stained the cell in ICC. Not sure whether it's actual signal or not. Also, it stained nucleus.
Secondary antibody used: Goat anti-rabbit Alex 488
Abcam response
We agree the stain looks incorrect insofar as the nuclear stain is unexpected, and the cytoplasmic stain is more punctate than filamentous. We have not tested reactivity with monkey and in general recommend a positive control when working with untested species, for instance a human cell line such as the neuroblastoma SK-N-SH. Expression of peripherin varies widely among tissues according to the Human Protein Atlas, http://www.proteinatlas.org/ENSG00000135406-PRPH/tissue.
