Frequently asked questions

What delivery time frame can we expect for a custom conjugation request?

  • Expected delivery time of a custom conjugation depends on your order requirements. Please get in touch to get an accurate lead time.

Are larger volume requests deliverable in a single larger vial, or multiple smaller vials?​

  • In most cases we are able to offer the flexibility of either a single larger vial or multiple smaller vials depending on your preference.

May we send Abcam our own antibody for a custom conjugation?

  • ​​While we are unable to offer conjugation of non-Abcam antibodies, we have an extensive range of conjugation-ready carrier-free antibodies and conjugation kits available for use.​

What level of validation is conducted to ensure a custom conjugation was successful?

  • For custom conjugations, the Fluorophore: Protein (F:P) ratio is used for standard validation. QC of the unconjugated material is always perform to ensure batch-to-batch consistency. Further validation of the conjugate can be performed upon request. 

What is the F:P ratio?

  • The Fluorophore: Protein (F:P) ratio or Degree of labelling (DOL) is a measure of the average number of dyes per IgG for a given production batch. The F:P ratios are determined by spectrophotometric assay.
