Additional Notes
I do not know the distribution pattern of this protein, nor the efficacy of this antibody. However, given Abcam's statement that "..Plays also a key role in the maintenance of axonal homeostasis..", it would be expected to be positive in all nerve fibres?
IHC-P results confirms this, in my hands.
However, Abcam do not state that this antibody is IHC-P reactive.
Submitted image of frontal cortex shows extensive, strong nerve fibre positivity.
NB: I see no Pyramidal cell dendritic positivity.
The upper part of the image shows part of the corpus callosum.
Abcam response
Thank you for sharing this data with us. We have had one attempt at IHC-P with ab133528 in our own lab and we observed both cytoplasmic and nuclear staining in some tissues (including tissue from human stomach, kidney and pancreatic cancer). Based on that result, we believe ab133528 might not be suitable for IHC-P, under our experimental conditions. We would welcome feedback from other researchers currently using this antibody.
The reviewer received a reward from Abcam’s Loyalty Program in thanks for submitting this Abreview and for helping the scientific community make better-informed decisions.
