Soluble NSF attachment protein receptors (SNAREs) are membrane components that determine the specificity of the docking and fusion of vesicles to target membranes. Syntaxins are target membrane SNAREs. Syntaxin 10 (STX10) is located within the trans-Golgi network (TGN). STX10 may function to receive vesicles either from the Golgi stack or from the endosome. STX10 has a high homology to syntaxin 6. There are 2 isoforms produced by alternative splicing.
