ADBR2 is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily. It is activated by the catecholamine epinephrine and couples to the G protein Gs to mediate adenylate cyclase activation. ADBR2 receptor binds epinephrine with an approximately 30-fold greater affinity than it does norepinephrine.
ADBR2CAM is a constitutively active mutant of the ADBR2. It differs from the wild-type receptor by four discrete amino acid substitutions in the third intracellular loop of the receptor L266 to S266, K267 to R267, H269 to K269, and L272 to A272).
GsaL is the long splice variant of the alpha-subunit of the heterotrimeric G-protein Gs. Gs activates the effector adenylate cyclase. GsaL differs from the short splice variant by a 15 amino acid insert between the ras-like domain and the alpha-helical domain.
