The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Use a concentration of 5 µg/ml.
1/100 - 1/500. Detects a band of approximately 60 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 59 kDa).
1/50 - 1/100.
Does not have 2'-5'-OAS activity, but can bind double-stranded RNA. Displays antiviral activity against encephalomyocarditis virus (EMCV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) via an alternative antiviral pathway independent of RNase L.
Expressed in most tissues, with the highest levels in primary blood Leukocytes and other hematopoietic system tissues, colon, stomach and to some extent in testis.
Belongs to the 2-5A synthase family. Contains 2 ubiquitin-like domains.
The ubiquitin-like domains are essential for its antiviral activity.

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence - Anti-OASL antibody - Carboxyterminal end (ab38325)
ab38325 stained HCT116 cells. The cells were 100% methanol fixed for 5 minutes at room temperature and then incubated in 1%BSA / 10% normal goat serum / 0.3M glycine in 0.1% PBS-Tween for 1hour at room temperature to permeabilise the cells and block non-specific protein-protein interactions. The cells were then incubated with the antibody (ab38325 at 5µg/ml) overnight at +4°C. The secondary antibody (pseudo-colored green) was ab150081 used at a 1/1000 dilution for 1hour at room temperature. Alexa Fluor® 594 WGA was used to label plasma membranes (pseudo-colored red) at a 1/200 dilution for 1hour at room temperature. DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclei (pseudo-colored blue) at a concentration of 1.43µM for 1hour at room temperature.
