The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Dot: 1/2000 to detect 3 ng or less of NGF in a dot blot immunoassay.
Inhib: A minimum antibody dilution of 1/10000 blocks the ability of NGF to stimulate growth of PC-12 cells or chick dorsal root ganglia.
WB: A minimum antibody dilution of 1/2000 will detect 500 ng of NGF in a western blot, but will not react significantly with contaminants present in a mouse submaxillary gland extract.
Not tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Nerve growth factor is important for the development and maintenance of the sympathetic and sensory nervous systems. Extracellular ligand for the NTRK1 and NGFR receptors, activates cellular signaling cascades through those receptor tyrosine kinase to regulate neuronal proliferation, differentiation and survival. Inhibits metalloproteinase dependent proteolysis of platelet glycoprotein VI (PubMed:20164177).
