  • 功能Ancillary protein that assembles as a beta subunit with a voltage-gated potassium channel complex of pore-forming alpha subunits. Modulates the gating kinetics and enhances stability of the channel complex. Assembled with KCNQ1/KVLQT1 is proposed to form the slowly activating delayed rectifier cardiac potassium (IKs) channel. The outward current reaches its steady state only after 50 seconds. Assembled with KCNH2/HERG may modulate the rapidly activating component of the delayed rectifying potassium current in heart (IKr).
  • 组织特异性Expressed in heart, lung, kidney, testis, ovaries, small intestine, peripheral blood leukocytes. Not detected in pancreas, spleen, prostate and colon. Restrictively localized in the apical membrane portion of epithelial cells.

Anti-KCNE1 antibody 图像

  • ICC/IF image of ab65795 stained HepG2 cells.  The cells were 4% formaldehyde fixed (10 min) and then incubated in 1% BSA / 10% normal goat serum / 0.3M glycine in 0.1% PBS-Tween for 1h to permeabilise the cells and block non-specific protein-protein interactions. The cells were then incubated with the antibody ab65795 at 1/200 dilution overnight at +4°C. The secondary antibody (green) was DyLight® 488 Goat anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) (ab96899) used at a 1/250 dilution for 1h. Alexa Fluor® 594 WGA was used to label plasma membranes (red) at a 1/200 dilution for 1h. DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclei (blue) at a concentration of 1.43µM.
