Cytochrome c purified from human heart.
The precursor of cytochrome c, apocytochrome c, is synthesized in the cytoplasm. Upon translocation into mitochondria, cytochrome c acquires a heme moiety required for functionality in the mitochondrial respiration chain. The heme-bound form of cytochrome c is called holocytochrome c. When released into the cytosol, cytochrome c can activate the caspases responsible for apoptosis.
Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab2542 in the following tested applications.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
|ICC/IF||Use a concentration of 6 µg/ml.|
|IP||Use at an assay dependent concentration.|
|WB||Use a concentration of 5 - 10 µg/ml.|
ab2542 staining differentiating (rat) PC12 cells by ICC/IF. Cells were PFA fixed and permeabilized in 0.2% Triton X100 for 5 minutes prior to blocking in 10% serum at RT for 1 hour. The primary antibody was incubated with the sample for 1 hour at 6 µg/ml. An Alexa Fluor® 488 conjugated goat anti-mouse antibody diluted 1/1000 was used as the secondary. Cells were counterstained with the nuclear Topro-3 stain.
ab2542 has not yet been referenced specifically in any publications.
