Affinity isolated antibody is obtained from goat anti-human IgM antiserum by immunospecific purification which removes essentially all goat serum
proteins, including immunoglobulins, which do not specifically bind to the µ-chain of human IgM. The antibody preparation is solid phase adsorbed with mouse and rat IgG's to ensure minimal cross-reactivity in tissue or cell preparations.
Affinity isolated antibody is coupled to cyanogen-bromide activated agarose at 3-4 mg antibody per milliliter of resin.
Because of the minimal interspecies cross reactivity to mouse or rat
IgG's this product is excellent for screening human monoclonal antibodies produced by hybridoma cells grown in systems containing mouse or rat
immunoglobulins. It has the ability to detect and separate human IgM in human biological fluids or tissues in normal or pathological situations such as cancer or autoimmune diseases.
