The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
ELISA: Use at a concentration of >1 µg/ml. WB: Use at a concentration of 1 µg/ml. Predicted molecular weight: 45 kDa.
ab24868 will detect 20 ng/lane of recombinant human BMP-2/4-1 or BMP-2/4-2 under reducing conditions.
Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
BMPs (bone morphogenetic proteins) belong to the TGF beta superfamily of structurally related signaling proteins. Members of this superfamily are widely represented throughout the animal kingdom and have been implicated in a variety of developmental processes.
BMP2 and 4 are members of the TGF-beta family, consisting of disulfide-linked homodimers. Both interact with GREM2 and SOSTDC1 and induce bone and cartilage formation. BMP4 also acts in mesoderm induction, tooth development, limb formation and fracture repair.
