Full length native protein (purified) (Rat).
AKAP12 is a major protein kinase C substrate with tumor suppressor activity in models of src- and ras-induced oncogenic transformation. AKAP12 regulates actin-based cytoskeletal and tissue architecture, as well as kinases such as protein kinase C (PKC), protein kinase A (PKA) and calmodulin. Additionally, AKAP12 has been implicated in the formation of migratory processes and cell migration during embryogenesis. Rat AKAP12 shares extensive homology with human Gravin, an autoantigen in myasthenia gravis that encodes kinase scaffolding functions and whose expression pattern in fibroblasts and nerves suggests a role in cell motility.

ab10346 staining AKAP12 in Rat brain tissue sections by Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P - paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections). Tissue was fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/800) overnight at 4°C. 0 hours (left), 6 hours (middle), 1 day (right) after middle cerebral artery occlusion. Scale bar = 20µm.
