Additional Notes
Based on literature in the mouse, we hypothesised there should be specific staining in the CA2 region of the hippocampus. No specific staining in the hippocampus was found with this antibody, nor specific staining anywhere in the brain. There was high background staining. This is likely due to the antibody, but it has not be tried yet in rat, so could be due to the absence of AVPR in the rat CA2. This is unlikely however.
Abcam response
Thank you so much for testing this antibody in IHC-Fr and rat. We appreciate very much your efforts, but are sorry to hear that the antibody did not work well in this species and application.
We welcome additional feedback from other customers as well.
