This product was changed from ascites to tissue culture supernatant on 25th October 2016. The following lot(s) is/are from ascites and is still in stock as of 25th October 2016- GR223940, GR223940. Lot numbers other than GR223940 and GR223940 will be from tissue culture supernatant. Please note that the dilutions may need to be adjusted accordingly.
In infected cells, ab50549 localizes the immature forms of VSV-G in the rough endoplasmic reticulum (RER) and in the cisternae of Golgi complex, as well as mature VSV-G at the cell surface and in the budding virus. The antibody does not stain the secreted form of VSV-G which lacks the membrane and the cytoplasmic domain.

COS7 cells over-expressing VSV-G tagged vinculin were fixed and permeabilized with 4% paraformaldehyde followed by 0.5% Triton X-100. Fixed cells were stained with 5 μg/ml ab50549. The antibody was developed using Goat Anti-Mouse IgG, Cy3™ conjugate. Cells were counterstained with DAPI (blue) to stain nuclei.
