Additional data
Additional Notes: Although this is a Mouse IGF-1 kit, we used it to measure IGF-1 levels in rat plasma samples collected during harvest in EDTA tubes. We had success when samples were diluted 1:5000 prior to assay and the kit appears able to measure rat samples without a problem.
Small volume, serial dilutions of the samples were required to avoid running out of Assay Diluent A for these large dilutions (2ul in 98ul = 50x --> 2ul 50x in 198ul = 5000x)
We had some concern about the standard curve that was produced. We ran the kit on 3 separate occasions and each time the values for standards at low concentrations were quite variable and non-linear. Those of high concentration (>100pg/ml) were consistent and linear. The concentration of our samples (diluted 1:5000) fell in the high/linear portion of the curve.
