Abcam response
Thank you for your Abreview. We are pleased to see this antibody has worked on rat samples which is a new species.
Having investigated further, we can confirm that the rat protein has 72% alignment to the immunogen used for this antibody. This is fairly low (we recommend alignment should be over 85%), and may help explain why the results are not as clear as expected. We are pleased to publish this as an Abreview. However, due to the points raised here, Abcam will wait for further conclusive data before adding rat as a guaranteed tested species for this antibody.
