The brains were kept in Parafix for 7 days before being cut on a freezing sliding microtome at 20 micrometers thickness.
The endogenous peroxidase activity was blocked for 1h at 1% hydrogen peroxide in methanol.
The visualisation was done using Vector ABC kit followed by 5 min in the DAB chromogen. No counterstaining.
